Ministry of National Defense Press Release

The Ministry of National Defense has stated today (24^th) that in regard to the routine promotion of general-ranked personnel on January 1^st 2019, the president has approved 8 major generals including Gao Jia-bin to be promoted to lieutenant generals, and 18 colonels including Li Jian-da to be promoted to major generals. All promotions are effective from January 1^st 2019.

The Ministry of National Defense pointed out that the 8 major generals promoted to lieutenant generals include Gao Jia-bin, Guo Xian-chen, Jian Shi-wei, Yang Ji-rong, Wu Qing-chang, Zhang Yuan-xun, Ao Yi-zhi, and Sun Chang-de; the 18 colonels promoted to major generals include Li Jian-da, Lin Zheng-xiong, Chen Shi-hui, Zhu Hui-min, Lin Qi-hui, Geng Guang-yi, Wan Hong-sen, Li Cheng-zhong, Gu Li-du, Liu Shen-mo, Li Jian-qing, Yang Bing-shen, Wang Qiong-wen, Liu Wen-jie, Liu Bao-wen, and Fa Zheng-hong. A total of 26 personnel was promoted.

The Ministry of National Defense has further stated that the rank promotion ceremony will be held at 9 am on December 25^th (Tue) at the Armed Forces Officer’s Club and hosted by the Minister of National Defense Mr. Yen. High ranking officers of the Republic of China Armed Forces and the family members of the promoted personnel are invited to attend the ceremony, and the president will also be present to deliver a speech to increase the morale of the military.
